Join Mike Eber and friends in our courtyard as they create a three-dimensional soundscape using four instruments positioned at the four corners of the courtyard. The effect on the audience, as they move slowly around the yard, is that of swimming through sound, the perception of the sounds changing as one’s pace and position changes.
The instruments, tuned to a specific frequency matrix developed by Eber, and placed across the room from each other, create high levels of constructive and destructive interference in the room, causing the right ear to hear something completely different than the left. Since the frequencies will be resounding and clashing so clearly, it seems as though one can reach out and grab the sound waves. Eber’s goal is to create combinations of sound that have yet to exist and will never occur again.
If it rains, we will move the concert indoors. Admission: $5
