The Morbid Anatomy Library is a private research library and collection open to the interested public by appointment or by luck, during gallery hours. The Library and Cabinet makes available a collection of curiosities, books, artworks, photographs, ephemera, and artifacts relating to medical museums, anatomical art, collectors and collecting, cabinets of curiosity, the history of medicine, death and society, natural history, arcane media, and curiosity and curiosities broadly considered. The present Morbid Anatomy Library Scholar in Residence is Evan Michelson of Obscura Antiques and Oddities and the new television show “Oddities.”
If you would like to know more about the library, and to get a sense of its contents, you can read about it in Newsweek, Time Out New York, or The Huffington Post and watch videos about it produced by Newsweek, Rocketboom Media, and WPIX’s Toni On! New York.
After 5 years as a project-in-residence at Proteus Gowanus, Morbid Anatomy has grown into its own Museum and Library located nearby at 424A 3rd Ave (Corner of 7th St), Brooklyn, NY 11215
