As part of our yearlong exploration of WATER, we are happy to host this unique presentation by a textile expert (and longtime Proteus collaborator) on the relationship between water and textiles.

In this illustrated talk, Janice Everett will discuss the relationship of textile manufacture and design to the environment, exploring the process of dyeing (traditional and industrial), the properties of fiber that make fabrics absorbent, and the techniques that have been created to protect them from water. Along the way, we will discover how water patterns are used as inspiration, as a form of protection and as a naturally created part of a process.
